A Citizen Solutions Workshop© — Hosted by Lynne Kolze, Deliberate Democracy, LLC, M.P.A
Renew Democracy One Person at a Time
Be the Change You Want to See in the World!
With our nation’s civic health in question, many people feel cynical and powerless. As an antidote to these feelings of hopelessness, I have developed this workshop for those who have an interest in public life and want to build their civic skills in a safe and supportive environment.
The primary aim of this non-partisan workshop is to encourage you to see yourself as an active citizen – a powerful and hope-filled role that requires us to be conscious of the need and obligation to be with others who may not agree with us, and to govern for the common good as we address public problems (like environmental degradation, education, neighborhood issues, poverty, etc.). An active citizen collaborates with diverse stakeholders to govern for the common good, consistent with democratic principles and standards. The understanding that a citizen is a governing member has largely been lost in our public dialogue. We reclaim it as the identity we all have as citizens.
Please join Lynne for this 1.5 day interactive workshop at the Carondelet Center in Saint Paul, MN, where we will explore our relationship to the meaning of citizenship and our own desires for purpose as we live in community with others. The workshop takes place from 10am-5pm on Saturday, 7/13/19, and from 9am-12pm on Saturday, 7/20/19).
Special Pricing for this workshop only! Space is limited and seats will fill quickly, so register today!
